The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) was passed in 2003. The purpose of the act was to “provide for the analysis of the incidence and effects of prison rape in Federal, State, and local institutions and to provide information, resources, recommendations and funding to protect individuals from prison rape.”
TCCPC has zero tolerance towards all forms of sexual abuse and harassment. TCCPC does not conduct investigations into PREA. All allegations of Sexual Abuse or Sexual Harassment are referred for investigation to Three Rivers Police Department to conduct criminal investigations, unless the allegation does not involve potentially criminal behavior. All referrals are documented.
