PROHIBITED ITEMS

PROHIBITED ITEMS

Prohibited items are any item that violates Probation Center polices. Items determined to be illegal, dangerous, disruptive, or counterproductive to Probation Center staff, clients or its operations.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

The following is a list of prohibited items that will be confiscated by staff:


  • Any object depicting drug or alcohol use
  • Music videos, No video games of any kind
  • Clothing with sex, drugs, inappropriate logos or staff deemed unacceptable graphics
  • Leggings, holes in pants / jeans above the knee
  • Skirts above the knee
  • Shorts more 1" above the knee; Tank tops
  • Contact Lenses - only prescribed clear lenses will be permitted
  • Anything that is explicitly illegal such as narcotics / firearms
  • Kratom, bath salts, spice, K2, synthetic cathinones - new unregulated psychoactive mind altering
  • substances made to copy the effects of Controlled Substances; Unsecured Prescriptions or over

                   the counter medicines

  • Weapons
  • Personal Fans
  • Alarm Clock must be battery operated, no plug-ins allowed
  • Jewelry, bracelets, earrings or other piercings (watch and wedding ring permitted)
  • Flammable liquids; any type of inhalant; aerosol cans
  • Vapes or any electronic smoking device
  • Rolling papers, hand rolled cigarettes
  • Tattooing devices
  • Fingernail polish / polish remover
  • Pornography, Pictures or drawings of inappropriate objects
  • Video / digital or any other camera and / or recording device
  • Cell phone, pager, IPod, MP3 player, touch screens, headphones, music listening device
  • Possession of cell phone inside facility - cell phone not returned until exit, loss of phase, weekend room restriction (R&R)
  • Fabric softener in sheet form; Laundry baskets
  • Adulterants / Alcohol
  • Hair Styling Devices, Hair Dye (hair dryer is allowed)
  • Backpacks, purses - Only Center issued bags are acceptable
  • Anything staff deems unacceptable


If a resident has property confiscated by a staff member, he will have the opportunity to reclaim it under the following conditions:

  1. If the resident is new to the program or does not have a Phase, the property will be released if the resident has authorized the release of the property to an approved visitor coming that can take the property home.
  2. Residents of TCCPC are not permitted to bring back any prohibited items from pass, furlough or work destinations.
  3. All remaining property will be donated in (30) thirty days to a charitable organization is left unclaimed or not removed from the Center.
  4. If a resident absconds from the program, all property will be designated as abandoned property. This absconded property will be disposed of any way TCCPC decides.

 

Prohibited items have proven to be hazardous, non-hygienic, too noisy or may lead to undesirable

behavior. By eliminating them, it makes the Center a more safe and tolerable environment.

If a resident knowingly has possession of these items, depending on the nature and the

severity of the violation, he will serve at least 1-hour of restriction work per item.
